People incarnated into crocodile

Paga is a small village located in the Upper East region, in northern Ghana. It is known for a strange phenomenon. This means that people and crocodiles can live together, swim together without any hurt between the sides.

According to the legend of the natives, the first man came to this land to find the crocodile for help, by taking a direction to a pond to reduce thirst after the long journey. To thank to the help, the man claimed that the crocodile will be considered as sacred animals and noone is allowded to hurt this animal.

Tourist is interested in touching hand to crocodile

The next generation in the village grew up with an immovablebelief about crocodiles. With them, people in the village had a crocodile “existence”wasswimming in the large pond. After returning to the homeland, the soul of their close peoplewill carnatethe crocodile to protect children in the next life. So far, the capture, kill or hurt this kind of animal did never happen in the small village Paga.

The large pond contains various crocodiles and people here can swim with hundreds of giant crocodiles but they didn’t worry anything. This is still the challenge for scientists. Many research group has come here and they still can not find reasonable answers about why human beings and crocodiles could be close together, and the young man went into flood waters to knee, they still are injured though full of around alligators.

However, here the villagers have a very simple explanation. One of the secrets for people and crocodiles can’t hurt each other because of the abundant food in ponds. This place is always full of fish, frogs for crocodiles to eat. In addition, people also feed crocodile hunted birds or the home chickens. They said that the crocodile willn’t be tempted and attack cattle reared in the house, look for food or even confuse children with their lunch.

In Paga, the crocodile isn’t fearful according faiths of people

Today, the village has become an attractive destination for tourist. Millions of visitors come here each year is intered intouching the back of a crocodile or sit on its back. This is the only place in the world you can comfortably hold awildcrocodile tail without fear they attack. People in the region confirmed this animal had been entirely friendly and harmless by far no one in the village was attacked by crocodile or threatened the life.
